A Great Day for Daphne!

Daphne got her sutures out today from where she had the brown recluse spider bite. She had an entire mammary gland removed. There were about 20 stitches, and she is now healed very nicely. Dr Miller did a beautiful job. He pronounced her ready to go back with her puppies.

I gave her a bath, and then, one by one, I reintroduced her puppies.  She was a bit overwhelmed first, but she soon calmed down. They tried to nurse a little, but no luck! That ship has sailed. Hopefully she will teach them some good manners!

She played with them, and soon they all fell asleep in the puppy room.

The puppies seem genuinely glad to be back with mom. They are remembering her and getting to know her again at the same time.

I’ve started scheduling prospective owners to visit and meet my crew of adult dogs as well as the puppies. The puppies are starting to get personalities now, but they change from day to day as they go through developmental stages.

One male and one female are not yet spoken for. The puppies will be 6 wks old on Thursday.
