I have to admit I had my hopes up that I would not have to tape ears on this litter of puppies. I had to tape their mom’s (See See’s) ears, so I bred to a sire (Luc) with really good ears. All of the puppies have had both ears up. Usually, when GSD ears have been up, they will go back up even if they come down during teething. However, if the ear starts to crease, it is advisable to tape to make sure the ear ultimately will stand. So yes, there were creases developing, and therefore, I bit the bullet and taped four out of five of the puppies’ ears. Here are before pictures and an after video.
Günther/Frasier who was sold already to a fantastic home, came back to visit, and I taped his ears too. The tape only lasted a few days on him, but the ears look pretty good already!
