Taping GSD puppy ears and 4 month reunion

The whole litter got back together for a play date!

That’s Amy with Martin/Duke on the left, then Daphne and Roz with me in the middle, and Niles closest to Aimee on the right with Frasier/Günther in profile.
We tried so hard to get the perfect shot. Amy’s husband took the pics. Thanks Jon!

That’s Niles with my hand on his nose. He is still available. After being the smallest male at birth, he is now the largest. He weighs 54 lbs on his 4m birthday.

We decided to tape Frasier/Günther’s ears. You can see in the top photo they are kinda droopy.
Goodbye sweet Frasier/Günther! I am grateful to my puppy buyers like Amy and Aimee, who take such wonderful care of “my” babies.

At 4 months, GSD puppy ears need to be carefully evaluated. Frasier/Günther’s ears had been up and down, and because Aimee lives near DC, we decided to save her a trip and do it now. Best case scenario, the tape can stay on for 2 weeks, and Aimee can see great ears after that. She was instructed to check the ears daily to make sure air is getting inside the ear and for any signs of infection. The tape has to stay dry, so she has to be dedicated to using an umbrella if necessary to take him out. He didn’t seem to mind the taping. Afterwards, he shook his head a couple of times and said, “Whatever! No problem.”
